Keytype ("we", "our", "the Service") is a free online typing speed test and touch typing trainer, available at keytype.pro, as a desktop application, and as a Discord Activity. By using the Service in any of these forms, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Keytype lets you practise typing (test, learn, quotes, custom text, and code modes), track your words-per-minute and accuracy, and optionally compete with others via public leaderboards and real-time duels. Most features work without creating an account; some — cross-device sync, public profiles, and leaderboards — require one.
If you create an account, you're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. Nicknames must not impersonate others or contain abusive, hateful, or illegal content — we may rename or remove nicknames, or suspend accounts, that violate this. You can delete your account at any time from account settings; this is permanent and cannot be undone.
You agree not to: use the Service to send or store unlawful, abusive, or infringing content; attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts; use automated means (bots, scripts) to inflate leaderboard results or otherwise misrepresent your typing performance; or use the Service in a way that violates Discord's own Terms of Service or Developer Policy when using Keytype as a Discord Activity.
Real-time duels connect you with another participant (a friend via a shared link, a public lobby, or — inside Discord — participants in the same voice channel). We don't review duel content in real time; report abuse to us at the contact below.
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keytype and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Keytype regarding your use of the Service.
